Why Dust Extraction Is Not Optional 

Particles in fine sanding dust, especially those from hardwoods, MDF, and finishing coatings, are small enough to get past the body's defenses. Wood dust is recognized by both OSHA and NIOSH as a respiratory hazard that needs to be actively controlled on commercial construction sites. The best available control is a portable dust extractor.  

Dust extraction has a direct impact on finish quality in addition to health. Surface contamination appears in the finish when airborne particles land on a freshly sanded surface before the subsequent coat is applied. This is removed at the source with a dust extractor; the finish applies properly, the surface remains clean, and the air remains clear.

POV-8 - Professional On-Site Dust Extractor 

SurfPrep's 8-gallon portable dust extractor, the POV-8, is intended for single-operator setups and on-site use. It is ready to use right out of the box, pairs with any SurfPrep electric or pneumatic sander, and is small enough to travel between workstations.  

 Each POV-8 consists of:  

• Static-safe 12-foot static conductive vacuum hose (SPOV25H) for handling fine particles  
• Five SPPVCB-5 replacement collection bags  
• The vacuum hose and electric cord organizer (SPPOVHH) maintains the site's workspace neat. 

 PIV-12 - Professional Industrial 

SurfPrep's industrial-grade dust extractor, the PIV-12, is designed to power brushless electric sanders and high-demand pneumatic sanders at the same time. designed for use in production settings where a single dust extractor must reliably support numerous operators.  

Essential skills:   

• Allows for the simultaneous operation of two air sanders, two electric sanders, or a mix of the two.  
• There are prefabricated 13-foot combination hoses available: 25mm vacuum hoses for electric sanders and 25mm vacuum + airline combo for air sanders.  
• The PIV-12 unit's sanding range can be extended up to 23 feet with optional 10' extension hoses.  
• Dual-operator configuration: 13' hose lengths are connected to a 10' 50mm vacuum hose with a Y-splitter for shared use.  
• Power-efficient design: a typical 15-amp circuit powers the 12-amp PIV-12 and two electric sanders at 2 amps each.
