SurfPrep Sanding
Description
SurfPrep foam abrasive pads are used in conjunction with SurfPrep back up pads and SurfPrep Air Tools. This is “The SurfPrep Sanding System”. SurfPrep is used for preparing any and all surfaces and coatings of any kind. SurfPrep is a unique sanding pad manufactured with engineered abrasive grain coated on one side of the foam with the opposite side being flocked with SurfPrep’s signature red colored flocking. The red flocking allows the SurfPrep foam abrasive sanding pad to be attached to the uniquely made SurfPrep low profile hook backup pad. SurfPrep abrasive pads are manufactured to the highest quality standards and tightest tolerances.
SurfPrep & The Purple Heart Project
Supporting Those Who Have Sacrificed for Our Freedom
At SurfPrep, we believe that craftsmanship has the power to change lives.
In 2025, members of the SurfPrep team met The Purple Heart Project at the Texas Woodworking Festival. What began as a conversation about woodworking quickly became something much more meaningful.
As they learned how traditional hand tool woodworking is helping combat-wounded Veterans find healing, purpose, and lifelong community, they knew they wanted to help however they could.
The impact of The Purple Heart Project was so inspiring that SurfPrep invited one of the program's combat-wounded Veteran graduates to speak at the company's annual Christmas celebration.
Hearing firsthand how the program had changed a Veteran's life reinforced what the team already knew—this mission is worth supporting.
Today, SurfPrep is proud to use its platform to help raise awareness and financial support for The Purple Heart Project so more combat-wounded Veterans can experience the same life-changing opportunity.
About The Purple Heart Project
The Purple Heart Project introduces physically and mentally combat-wounded Veterans who continue to struggle with the invisible and visible wounds of war to the peace, purpose, and healing found through traditional hand tool woodworking.
Selected Veterans receive a full scholarship to attend Rob Cosman's week-long Training the Hand workshop.
Every Veteran is provided with travel, lodging, meals, tuition, professional-quality hand tools, and a custom-built workbench delivered to their home after completing the program.
More importantly, they become part of a lifelong community of fellow Veterans who understand their experiences and continue to support one another long after the workshop ends.
The Purple Heart Project's vision is simple:
A community where combat-wounded Veterans discover healing through woodworking, build lifelong friendships, and know they are never alone and never forgotten.
