The Ray allows operators to sand ‘on-site’ because the tool plugs directly into a standard electric outlet. The power supply is built in the tool with a ‘direct wire’ design that allows for easy set up and operation (no external power supply box / plugs directly into outlet). Annual electricity costs for operating the 5” or 6” Ray 4 hour/day, 240 days/year at $0.0007 kWh is just over $20.00 per year. These tools are available in 3/16” & 3/32” orbits. It is ergonomically balanced for added comfort and control for the operator. Its cutting edge ‘cooling fan’ creates air flow around the counter balance spindle bearing which enhances the life of the tool. The Trident motor assembly is constructed of hardened steel for the cylinder and both end plates. A 360° swivel exhaust grate allows operator to redirect air flow. This new design no longer has an external cap/filter to lose or damage. The tool also has a redesigned, low-profile speed control. You will need a VERY LARGE air compressor to run this sander.
